Hitachi H8 and H400 adaptors - Ask Bill
Data Action RICE3000/GP3000 Emulators/Programmers - Ask Bill

These links should help you to find out whether a device is supported by a particular programmer. It will also help you to identify and convertor or adaptor you may need.

We supply these adaptors and convertors from many different sources, but if you wish to try and identify which one you require you can either AskBill directly or try one of the links above. For generic general purpose convertors try the Logical homepage.

Definitions
To try and resolve some of the confusion over the terms convertor (converter) and adaptor (adapter), we try to only use the word convertor for something used to convert a surface mount part to its Dual In Line equivalent part. If this part does not have a DIL equivalent part you have to use an adaptor. A convertor should work with any programmer whereas an adaptor will only work with a specific manufacturer's programmer. Adaptors are also used where some additional electronics are necessary to program a particular device.  There are also other types of adaptors and convertors used with emulators or prototyping boards which allow connection to the surface mount pads or sockets on the printed circuit board.
