Conitec

Galep5 is a professional pocket sized programmer. It programs EPROMS, EEPROMS, FLASH EPROMs, serial EEPROMS, Microcontrollers, GALs and PALCEs – up to 48 pins DIP without adapters or additional circuits.  The Galep5 connects directly to the USB port of your PC or laptop.

The Galep5 Programmer is the latest fifth generation programmer from Conitec.  and its small size makes it ideally suited to development, service and mobile component programmingUsing a powerful ARM-9 programmer it provides fast programming cycles. A powerful programmer at a low price.

High-Speed Hardware

The Galep5 is designed for speed. The programming algorithms run on an internal 200 MIPS ARM-9 processor under Embedded Linux. The programming cycle times are extremely short, close to the specified minimum times of the components.

48 Universal Pin Drivers

A universal pin driver circuit especially designed for the Galep5 guarantees optimal signal quality for the component to be programmed. Each of the 48 pins carries the following signals

Logical high, adjustable betwwen 1.3V and 5.0V
Logical low, threshold adjustable between 0.5V and 5.0V
Three independent programming voltages up to 25V
Ground
Three switchable resistors for pullup and pulldown
Adjustable clock rate

The switchinbg regulators for the programming voltages are controlled by D/A convertors in 100mV steps. Further D/A convertors control the logic levels (1.3V to 5.0V) and the input threshold (0.5V to 5.0V) All voltages are monitored by an independent coprocessor.

The universal pin driver concept reduces the requirements for adapters and thus ensures an overall low cost programming system.

No Power Supply Required

The Galep5 can be powered through the USB bus and for many items the 500mA limit is adequate. Some devices require more power (indicated in the menu) and for these the included power supply or 6 off AAA batteries are required.

In-System Programming

This is supported by the Galep5

Software

The Galep5 software is compatible with all Windows systems from 95 onwards and supports many file formats and includes a serial number generator for mass production use.

JTAG support is provided using the standard 1149.1 interface.

Safety

Prior to each function the Galep5 checks the power consumption, correct positioning and the contacts of all the pins of the selected component. This prevents accidental damage to the component or the device.
